- University Degree (M.A.) in International Information Management, majoring in Applied Information Science with minors in Business Administration and Media Studies, from Hildesheim University, including Erasmus exchange stays in Lisbon (Universidade Europeia, formerly ISLA) and Dublin (DCU).
Since 2001, he has worked as a lecturer/trainer in civic and political education.
From 2007 to 2014, he worked as a freelance journalist and radio host for Radio Tonkuhle, Hildesheim. Since then, he has also freelanced for various other local media outlets.
Since early 2013, he has worked in the press office of HAWK – University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen, as an editor for print, audio and video content, and as a podcast host.
Mr. Aue has volunteered for AFS Intercultural Programs as an alumnus since 1994, in various roles.
For CIVIC – Institute for International Education, he works as a speaker and trainer, including at events in France, Belgium, Poland, Tunisia and Georgia.

- Numerous EU simulation-game seminars in schools, educational institutions and other organizations since 2005
- Accompanying memorial-site trips to Strasbourg/Alsace, Brussels, Berlin and Kraków/Auschwitz
- Democracy and Europe simulation-game seminars in Kutaisi and Tbilisi (Georgia) as well as Tunis (Tunisia)
- Moderation of online EU seminars and simulation exercises with schools/participants from the Netherlands and Moldova
- Co-author of simulation-game publications (Traffic Simulation Game) and the "Burgenland Methodology Compendium"
