- Bachelor’s degree in political science at the University of Duisburg-Essen
While pursuing his degree in political science, Jan Stemmann gained experience in academic teaching and political education. As a research assistant at the Institute of political science at the University of Duisburg-Essen, he was involved in teaching and took on responsibilities in providing academic support to students as well as in presenting and preparing political science content. In addition, he works at an elementary school in Essen, which has given him further experience in educational work with children.
From August to September 2025, he completed an internship at the CIVIC Institute for International Education as part of his studies. Following the internship, he continues to work for the institute as a student advisor.
His main areas of interest include, in particular, political education and democracy education for children and young people, as well as education and school policy.
