  • Bachelor's Degree Programme in Political Science and Sociology at Kiel University.

Clemens Witzel has been studying Political Science and Sociology in a dual-subject Bachelor's programme at Kiel University since 2022. Before this, he began a degree in Socioeconomics but deliberately decided to change his course of study in order to place a stronger focus on political issues. After graduating from secondary school in 2021, he completed a Voluntary Social Year at a comprehensive school near Lübeck. There, he primarily supported the school social workers in conflict mediation, assisting students in their daily school life, supervising breaks, and conducting social skills training. Through this experience, he gained valuable practical experience in education and youth work at an early stage.

His academic interests focus on International Relations, the political system of Germany, climate policy, and the European Union. In particular, he is interested in European and international politics as well as civic and political education.

Since 2024, Clemens Witzel has been working at the CIVIC Institute. There, he designs and facilitates civic education programmes, supports the organisation of events, and communicates political topics to a wide range of target groups. His responsibilities also include the development of educational materials and the preparation of workshop resources.

Since August 2026, he has been serving as Project Officer for the EU-Jugendbotschafter@school project. In this role, he was involved in the project's recruitment process and supports the project throughout its entire duration. His responsibilities include preparing and delivering workshops as well as providing professional guidance and support to the team of Youth Ambassadors.
