This year´s Regional Conference of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on the topic "Identifying and addressing corruption vulnerabilities at local level" in Skopje (Macedonia) took place with active participation by the CIVIC Institute for international education during the period from 03rd until 4th October 2013.

More than 80 participants from South-East Europe, Euroasia and America were discussing topics regarding the prevention of corruption on the local level. Moreover, they were exchanging intensively best practice examples as well as their different experience concerning new instruments in the area of preventing corruption.

Holger-Michael Arndt from the CIVIC Institute for international education presented the German approach of preparing a risk map that contains a risk survey and a risk analysis. This method enables the identification of work places that are especially endangered by corruption and makes it possible that employees check the existing security instruments.

The discussions will be continued at the next regional conference of the UNDP in Panama in 2014.
