From 2021 to 2024, Shosha Wittrock worked at the “DabeiRat” of the “SocialMediaHistory” project, led by Prof. Dr. Thorsten Logge and Prof. Dr. Christian Bunnenberg.
In addition to her studies, she was active at the History Student Council from 2022 to 2025 and, in addition to serving on various university policy committees, she served as chair of the executive board for two semesters. Furthermore, she was involved in organizing the “Action Weeks Against Antisemitism” in Bochum from 2022 to 2025.
As part of her elective coursework, she completed a team-building training program at the International Education and Encounter Center (IBB) in January 2023.
From April 2023 to February 2026, she served as a tutor for the Integrated Proseminar at the Department of History at Ruhr University Bochum.
Since 2022, Shosha Wittrock has been working as a student assistant at the Institute for Diaspora and Genocide Studies, where she is primarily engaged in research and assisting the editorial office of the “Journal of Genocide Studies.”
Her academic focus is largely on the study of antisemitism as well as genocidal and collective violence. She is also enrolled in the “Collective Violence, Holocaust, and Genocide Studies (CVG)” a certificate program offered by the Institute for Diaspora and Genocide Studies.
As part of two summer schools organized by the “CoVio” (Collective Violence) research network on the overarching themes “Societies of Violence: Memories, Experiences, Controversies” (Leipzig 2023) and “Societies of Violence: Hate and Power” (Hagen 2024), she was able to examine, among other topics, the spread of far-right and anti-Semitic content on platforms such as 8chan and 4chan.
Since 2025 Shosha Wittrock has been working as a consultant for the Civic Institute. In this role, she conducts simulation seminars and workshops on various topics.
